i got stuck in an elevator today.
do you have an elevator list?
ok. let’s call a spade a spade. i have writer’s block. the girl who never stops talking is just staring at her screen. pretty much just pumped for the bachelorette to start. because i’m cool like that. i can sink down into total trashy life mode.
i just love the show. i can’t stop. i can’t defend it. i kind of want to be on it. right? i know. horrible.
and i root for the people. i want it to work. i cry at the season finale. every single time.
true life: i’m a closet sucker for reality television couples.
anywho. it’s bachelorette monday and lake season launch week so i made you a cocktail. it’s delicious.
i knowwwwww. more corny holiday stuff. but dontcha love it just a little bit? more than the bachelor people love each other at the end, less than chris harrison loves saying “most dramatic rose ceremony ever” and at least as much as you love the season’s inevitable ugly crier (aka the mesnick)?
say you do.
this one is from mr bobby flay himself. well adapted from him. i swapped out sugar for agave nectar – watermelon is so sweet to me to begin with, i could even do without the agave.
also how cute are these party napkins and straws? i walked into a store and asked the salesperson where the party napkins were and he said he didn’t know. i just looked at the poor thing and thought, i’m so sorry. life without party napkins? tragic.
wow. could this post be any more scattered? oy vey. would love to chat more, maybe tell you about my secret obsessions with alaska the last frontier and frozen (the documentary not the animated “let it go” film) but the bachelorette is about to start and my wine isn’t even poured, my popcorns not ready….#firstworldproblems.
make this byeeeee.
- 3 cups watermelon chunks
- 1 lime, halved
- 1 cup fresh blueberries

- Puree the watermelon in a food processor until smooth. Strain the juice into a bowl pressing on the pulp, then discard the solids.
- Put the agave nectar, lime chunks, berries and mint in a pitcher and muddle until the berries are slightly crushed. Add the tequila and watermelon juice and stir to combine. Refrigerate until cold, at least 1 hour. Serve over ice, garnished with mint sprigs.
